NASA and Obama: Spacing Out On Global Warming - PR Web (press release)

Houston, TX (PRWEB) May 25, 2012

George Jarkesy penned an op-ed after welcoming Apollo 7 Astronaut Walt Cunningham on his show on May 9. Their discussion focused on the issue of global warming and NASA’s support of the global warming “hypothesis.” The former Apollo pilot touched on NASA’s reputation of “objective science” being “endangered” when they took a “political position on an unsettled issue.” Cunningham also stated that proponents will “claim that it is settled fact” which it clearly is not. During the show Cunningham outlines scientific fact and the difference between “human caused global warming” and climate change. In Jarkesy’s op-ed he discusses America’s need to “rise up and check the facts.” He emphasizes the danger in letting “science be driven by politics” and allowing “unproven evidence” to “hamper businesses.”

Walt Cunningham was among 49 notable astronauts and NASA employees who signed a letter expressing their opinion that, “NASA has become a politicized agency and have signed a letter to protest NASA’s involvement in the global warming controversy.” The letter protests that NASA is straying away from “objective assessment” and becoming more of a political agency. George Jarkesy released an article discussing this letter after Walt Cunningham’s appearance on The George Jarkesy Show.
