Earth's period of global warming is a cycle of nature - Coshocton Tribune

Al Gore and a group of his followers of alarmists oppose the use of fossil fuel because they believe that this fuel causes global warming, recently renamed climate change. These people are deceived by lack of information, misinformation and the omission of contradictory information.

Historical, meteorological and geologic studies show that global warming and cooling is a natural and cyclical phenomenon. Between 900 and 1300, a three degree increase in world temperature occurred. Coinciding with this event was an increase in agricultural production in Europe and among the ancient tribes in America. Also, the Sahara Desert ceased expanding.

Between 1890 and 1930, there was an increase in earth warming, but during the same period of time, a relatively small amount of CO2, hydrocarbons and chlorofluorocarbons were being released into the air.

Between 1940 and 1970 a period of global cooling occurred. Simultaneously, excessive amounts of fossil fuels were consumed. World War II, the Korean War, the construction of the German Autobahn and the U.S. Interstate highways used more fossil fuel than was used during the entire 19th century.

Advancing glaciers is a subject overlooked by the climate change theorists. The Journal of Geophysical Research and French glaciologists recently announced that at least a dozen major glaciers are advancing. Some of the mountains and glaciers where this is taking place include Hubbard, Alaska; Shasta, Calif.; St. Helen, Wash.; Logan, Yukon; Franz and Fox, New Zealand; Mili, Russia; Perito Moreno, Argentina; Himalayan Alps and others.

The earth is in a period of global warming, but it is a cycle of nature. No doubt it is too late for the alarmists to abandon the fear of the results of global warming, but it's not too early for them to start spreading panic about an ice age.
